The Andermatt region encompasses the six municipalities of Andermatt, Hospental, Realp, Göschenen, Wassen and Gurtnellen, of which Andermatt itself, 1,444 metres above sea-level, is the largest. Zumdorf, which is located between Hospental and Realp, is the smallest village in Switzerland and has been incorporated into the municipality of Hospental.
