Trekking away from ski slopes or winter walking trails, through snow covered countryside and feeling that unmarked powder snow under your feet. Within the Andermatt Holiday Region there are a number of marked sowsnow trails that allow this amazing experience to be felt. 


The latest information on the snowshoe trails in the Ursern Valley can be found here from 8.30 am: 



  • The trails are marked however not controlled.
  • Protected areas and Wildlife rest zones are to be adhered to («Respektiere deine Grenzen»            campaign).
  • Review the current Weather Report: MeteoSchweiz, Tel 162.
  • Review information about your planned route in the Internet or from the operator.
  • The use of snowshoe trails is the personal responsibility of the individual. Andermatt-Urserntal Tourismus GmbH as well as all local service providers accept no responsibility for any accident.
  • The use of any snowshoe trail should not be undertaken alone.
  • Sufficient opportunities to turn back as well as a time-reserve for unplanned situations should always be taken into consideration.
  • The operational timings of any mountain lifts involved should be known, in particular the «last run» of the day.
  • Inform someone about your planned route and objectives. Do not forget to inform that person of your return.
  • Protect Nature and the Environment: only leave your tracks in the snow behind!
  • It is strongly recommended to have the appropriate equipment with you at all times.
  • You should seek the assistance of a mountain guide.
